The Kirchentag is an exciting meeting of thousands of Christians, worshiping together, singing, discussing, learning, celebrating, getting to meet fascinating people from all over. It usually takes place in a different city every two years. In 2025, Hannover is Kirchentag city for the 5th time since 1949.
The Kirchentag was in Hannover - and we were part of it with a special Hannover International Worship service on the Kirchentag Friday.
The service focussed on the words of Jeremiah 29 which was the scripture theme for the Kirchentag Friday.
Our preacher was Pastor Viola Chrzanowski. You can re-read her sermon here or listen to it. We also had beautiful special music by our organist Hagen Heinicke and violinist Hartwig Meynecke.
For children, we had a special Sunday school program on this day, and we had not only our usual refreshments after the service but even a small picnic lunch.
